Air Conditioning Services in Leeds
For keeping cool in the hot summer months or having clear demisted windows in the cold British winters, a well maintained and serviced Air Conditioning system is essential for your comfort and safety.
Claytons employ only registered Level 3 F Gas handlers, which means we can legally carry out air conditioning repairs and servicing in line with current legislation. We recommend that your air conditioning system is visually checked at your annual vehicle service and the Air Conditioning system serviced every two years.
- Visual check of all components
- Function and operation check
- Refrigerant test
- Dryer Replacement, when required.
- Leak Test
Advanced leak detection
We have an advanced leak detection system that very few garages in the country operate. Rather than pressuring the system with just nitrogen, it uses a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen to detect hard-to-find leaks that cause distress and expense by returning year on year.
If we do need to repair your air conditioning system, we'll only use original or matching quality parts. Remember that an air conditioning service or a top up can sometimes be a remedy and not a cure for an underlying fault in your system.
A car air conditioning system will on average lose approximately 10% of its refrigerant every year. Recharging the air con means replacing this lost refrigerant. It's sometimes known as an air con 'regas'. This must not be confused with a major leak in the system where the gas escapes over a few months or weeks, for this we will have to carry out a leak detection test.
An air conditioning recharge at Claytons involves removing any remaining old refrigerant gas from your air-con system before replacing this with the correct amount of new refrigerant as per your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation.
We complete the recharge process within the hour and you will once again have refreshing cool air on demand in summer and faster window demisting and cabin heating in winter.
Anti-fungal mist treatment
Another service to consider for your air conditioning is anti-fungal disinfection. Bacteria, fungus and other microorganisms can all reach the inside of your vehicle when you turn on your air conditioning.
They can cause unpleasant smells and also allergic reactions, including:
- Watery eyes
By disinfecting your air conditioning system, we can kill off any microorganisms and apply a protective layer to the components so they are less likely to build up in the future.
